Reserve Officer Program

Job Description

The Castroville Police Department is accepting applications for Reserve Police Officers.  As a growing suburb of San Antonio, Castroville serves a population of almost 4,000 residents, as well as, watching over a major thoroughfare (Highway 90.)  Each Reserve Police Officer is put through the Field Training program and after successful completion will eventually work their own patrol unit and be responsible for a district; including but not limited to regular patrol duties, traffic enforcement, crime prevention, and other duties as assigned.


Peripheral Duties

All Reserve Officers also assist in public relations activities, including speaking to schools, and other civic organizations.  And attending City sponsored events throughout the year.

Job Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED
  • Basic TCOLE license - If there is over a 180 day break in service, a new Psychological and Physical exam will be required.
  • Valid Texas driver's license with a good driving history.
  • All candidates must be able to pass a rigorous background investigation.
  • Interested Reserve Officers will be considered first when a full time paid position becomes available.
